The Ayurvedic retreat in Pune, India begins at 8am on February 10, 2025.
This is an Ayurvedic retreat for the purpose of healing. You will meet with an Ayurvedic doctor who will personalize your treatments. We will be eating fresh and organic Ayurvedic meals daily made by this doctor and grown on her farm. Please be aware this is a clean yet rustic setting in India and be prepared to detoxify your body and mind.
Daily Schedule:
6:45 - 7:15 am - Meditation. (Cristina Parente)
7:15 - 7:30 am - Tea time
7:30 - 8:30 am - Morning yoga (Lauren Ippolito)
8:30 - 9:00 am - Breakfast
9am -12:30 pm - Ayurvedic Treatments
12:30 - 1:30 pm - Lunch
1:30 - 5:00 pm - Ayurvedic treatments.
5:00 - 6:00 pm - Free time
6:00 - 7:00 pm - Dinner
7:15 - 8:15 pm - Evening program (lectures in Ayurvedic principles and nutrition)
8:15 - 8:30 pm - Closing meditation
Retreat ends on February 16th.
Types of treatments that each person will receive daily:
* Netra Basti - Eyewash with oil and herbs.
* Gandusha - Mouthwash with medicated sesame oil
* Dantadhawan - Brushing your teeth with Neem Twig.
*Abhyanga massage will be given by local therapist and supervised by
Cristina Parente, LMT.
DETOXIFICATION TREATMENTS:
Five sessions - Abhyanga: A delightful massage with long strokes performed by two massage
therapists massaging in synchrony. The medicated oils used for Abhyanga are prescribed to
the patient according to their DOSHA (body type and constitution).
Five sessions - Karnapuran: It is the pouring of warm medicated oil into the patient’s ears. It
treats ear ailments. Performed by Dr. Shinde
Three sessions - Basti: An oily medicated decoction and is used as an enema. Used a
purgative to eliminate deep seated toxins from the intestines.
One session - Shirodhara: The pouring of medicated oils onto the forehead( Pituitary gland,
third eye area). It is an excellent relaxation treatment very soothing for the nervous system.
One session - Pizhichil: It is the squeezing of warm medicated oil onto a patient's body from a
cloth soaked in the oil. Improves circulation, soothing for achy joints.
One session - Nasya: Ayurvedic treatment for the nostrils and upper respiratory passage. It
drains out the excessive buildup mucus clearing and bettering the breathing.
One session - Netra Basti: Is used in Panchkarma to enhance and maintain the eyes health. It
soothes and moistens the retina. The provider prepares a dough from organic grains and molds
it onto a small ring that is placed around the eyes to hold medicated ghee.
One session - Ayurvedic Herbal Facial: (Mukha Lepam) is a natural treatment that uses special
Dosha-based oils, creams, face packs, and herbs to give natural facelift, enhancing glow and
reducing the sign of aging.
This plan will be common for everyone daily. Upon your arrival, you will have a full consultation
with Dr. Shinde. Individual schedule will be handed with time and place of treatments. Dr.
Shinde will personalize your therapies according to your health needs.
ACCOMODATIONS
The accommodations at the Ayurvedic Clinic offers two types of rooms,
single and double. There are ONLY two single rooms with private bathroom
(upon availability for extra fee) you may inquire about it. There are five
additional double rooms with private bathroom.
All three daily vegetarian meals are made with fresh vegetables from Dr
Sonali’s farm and included. Snacks upon request.
There is internet access, running water and electric. It is rustic but not that rustic haha.
INDIAN VISA
You will need a Visa to enter India, so
make sure you request it in advance.

Jala Yoga is planning to meet everyone in Pune on February
9th at 12pm. We are going to charter a shuttle bus to drive our
group to Aarogyabhumi Clinic. The drive between Pune to
Aarogyabhumi is about 1 hour.
Things to do in Khalad, Saswad, and Jujuri
During the time off, students can do any of the following:
*Conference on Ayurveda
*Conference on the local eco-system
*Extra Ayurvedic treatments at the clinic
*Trekking
*Visit the national park
*Visit of the Jejuri Temple
*Visit of several Shivaist Temples
*Visit Hindu Temples
